Unifying ITSM and Endpoint Management with a Single AI-Powered Agent.
Effective data retention is crucial for maintaining system efficiency, optimizing database performance, and ensuring long-term accessibility of historical records. The Self-Heal Data Retention Management & Analytics features empower administrators to configure retention policies, automate archival processes, and monitor stored data efficiently.
The Self-Heal Data Retention Management feature allows administrators to define policies that determine how long specific data is actively stored before being archived. Since certain system tables accumulate large amounts of data, this feature ensures that only the most recent one to six months of records remain in the active database, while older data is securely archived in Excel format for future reference.
The Data Retention Management section provides the following essential details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Data of | Specifies the table for which retention is configured (e.g., Admin Action, Rules, Agent Version). |
| Retention Period | Defines how long data remains in the active database (1 to 6 months). |
| Enabled Status | Indicates whether retention is active (ENABLED) or inactive (DISABLED). |
| Edit Option | Allows administrators to modify existing retention policies. |
Additionally, new retention policies can be added using the “+ Data Retention” button.
A. Accessing the Data Retention Management Page
B. Adding a New Retention Policy
Table Name: Select the table (e.g., Admin Action, Rules, Agent Version).
Retention Period: Choose between 1 to 6 months.
Enabled Status: Set to True (Active) or False (Inactive).
Click Save to apply the retention policy.
C. Modifying an Existing Retention Policy
The Self-Heal Data Retention Analytics feature provides a centralized view of archived data, enabling administrators to track which tables have undergone data retention, view cutoff dates, and access stored backups.
By ensuring that only relevant data remains active while older data is securely archived, this feature helps maintain database efficiency and compliance with retention policies.
The Data Retention Analytics page includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Table Name | Displays the name of the database table that has undergone retention processing. |
| Cutoff Date | Indicates the last date for which data was retained before being archived. |
| Excel File | Provides a download link to access archived records. |
| Status | Displays the retention process status (e.g., “Completed” or “Processing”). |
If no data has been archived yet, the page will display “No data available.”
