Search Analytics

The Search Page provides a form to search analytics based on User Name or Host Name. Users can access multiple machines, and machines can be shared by multiple users. The search results display key analytics such as Version, User, Feedback, New Version, and Searched Query data.

1. How to Search for Information for Any User or Host?

To retrieve analytics for a specific user or host:

1. Navigate to the Search Analytics page under Self-Help → Analytics → Search.
2. Enter either a User Name, Host Name, or both in the search form.
3. Click Search to generate analytics results.
4. Use the Filter option within the results page to further refine the search.

This process helps track user and host activities across multiple machines.

2. How to Check if User Name or Host Name Usage Data is Available?

To verify if data exists for a given user or host:

1. Open the Search Analytics page.
2. Click the “i” button next to the User Name or Host Name fields.
3. This action redirects to the Application Analytics page.
4. Use the search filter in the App Analytics section to check if usage data is available.

If no data appears, the user or host may not have used the system recently.

3. How to Determine if a User Name or Host Name is Valid?

To confirm the validity of a User Name or Host Name:

1. Access the Search Analytics page.
2. Click the “i” button next to the respective field.
3. The Application Analytics page opens.
4. Use the search filter in App Analytics to verify the name.

If the search returns no results, the User Name or Host Name may be incorrect or inactive.

4. How to Interpret the Search Results?

After performing a search, the results appear on the same page. The results display:

• Version Analytics – Shows software versions used by the host/user.
• User Analytics – Provides user-specific data.
• Feedback Analytics – Displays responses regarding solution effectiveness.
• New Version Analytics – Indicates if a newer version is available.
• Searched Queries – Shows frequently searched terms.

Users can apply filters to refine the results further based on specific criteria.

5. How to Filter for Specific Information on the Search Results Page?

To narrow down search results:

1. Perform a search using a User Name or Host Name.
2. Locate the filter icon at the top-right of each analytics section.
3. Apply a filter using the desired User Name or Host Name.

Filtering helps focus on specific insights within large datasets.

6. How to Download Search Results as an Excel File?

To export data for further analysis:

1. Perform a search using User Name or Host Name.
2. On the Search Results Page, find the Excel button in the top-right of each section.
3. Click Excel to download the report for the selected analytics section (e.g., Version Analytics, Feedback Analytics).
4. Repeat as needed for multiple report types.
