Assessments are an integral part of learning process. It is an indicator of our abilities, knowledge, area of concerns and without it we will never know if our learning is complete or not. The current state of computer based assessments are in the form of theoretical questions and assessments in controlled simulations where you are tested in a controlled environment.<\/p>\n

With Anakage focussing on learning by practicing inside real application the experience\u00a0would not be complete if we did not supported assessments. But we had to define what would an assessment mean in a working application. It would not make sense to throw up a multiple choice question or a fill in the blanks question as they are all testing your theoretical knowledge. By looking at how our users reacted to the concepts we came with – we settled on testing them for their ability to perform a task inside application. They should be allowed to navigate to any functionality while they are being assessed. As soon as they perform what they are being asked we proceed to next question.<\/p>\n

To experience practical assessments click the yellow icons in the topic list as below –<\/p>\n

A scenario file would open inside the application and you will get a introductory message explaining what does an assessment means –<\/p>\n

Click on the “Start Tasks” button. You will see first question\/task.<\/p>\n

If you are not sure about how to do it move mouse over the bulb icon to see hint. Otherwise perform the task as asked. The task bubble will remain on screen as long as you do not complete the task. You can “Skip” to next task if you want to leave it. Once you complete the task inside real application you will see a green confirmation box as below.<\/p>\n

And as expected at the end of all tasks you will see a report card of your assessments.<\/p>\n

Summing up – our product tests you for “actually performing the task” and not for “ability to do the task”.
